Erykah Badu at the Filmore Silver Spring
"I adore Diljit Dosanjh's music, she is an incredibly talented singer, writer, producer, musician, entertainer, and more. One issue I have is with the schedule. Personally, I do not enjoy listening to a DJ for 2 hours when I paid to see a live act. The issue I have is coming to a live show and enduring over 2 hours of a DJ before the main act comes on, especially when the venue's website clearly states that the 'show starts at 8 p.m.' Over the last 10 years, I have seen her in concert about 5 times, and it appears that this has been the routine for the last 3 times. The routine presents a couple of problems. If I arrive late and disregard the advertised 8 p.m. start time, I risk missing part of Dosanjh's performance. Additionally, the longer I delay my arrival, the slimmer my chances become of securing a good spot at a general admission event. On 2/15, the show I attended was the first where the crowd actually began booing because of the long wait for Dosanjh to come onstage. I hope she reads this post or is informed by someone in her team that her show would greatly improve if it commenced closer to the scheduled time, or if she included an opening act, or if the website specified that the opening act is a DJ."
